Astrological Update: Aries Season 2022

By Jayne Renault

Dreamy Pisces season is coming to a close to make way for big, bold Aries time.

The sun moves into Aries on March 20 – the same day as the equinox – and it will stay there until April 20. No matter what your own sun sign is, this season brings an energetic kickstart for new ideas, spontaneous fun, and passionate play.

Aries is the baby of the zodiac, marking the beginning of the astrological calendar. With this sense of initiation and newness, this season can serve as a kind of cosmic reset. As the first born of the zodiac, independent Aries has a leadership quality to it and encourages us to drive on and forge new paths, ultimately paving the way for those who may come after us. It’s the season of new beginnings, fresh starts, and bringing things to life.

Pisces season invited us to dive deep into the pools of our spiritual depths and this year’s swim was especially murky for a lot of us. If the last month had you feeling like you were lost as sea, cardinal Aries is the beacon to bring you back down from the ether and into your body to start a brand new cycle.

This fire sign is ruled by Mars, the planet of action and desire, and brings big, bold and impulsive “leap before you look” energy with it. It can be a little impatient too because Aries is always anxious to make things happen. There’s no time to sit around. After wading in the deep reflection pool of Pisces season, Aries gives us the boost of energy and confidence we need to shed whatever is holding us back and go go go!

Whether at work or at play — two things Aries does well — you may  want what we want, and we want it NOW. This season is packed with the go-getter energy that empowers us to go after the goals we set in seasons past.

Here are some highlights for what’s happening in 2022 and some tips to make the most of your Aries season:

This year, things will really get extra fiery when Mercury moves into Aries on March 27. Mercury rules matters of the mind and communication, so this combo will bring boldness to the way we think and communicate. This is a great time to say what’s on our mind or start new conversations, especially at work and in relationships. Keep in mind that all this fire can create impulsiveness and impatience, so the chances of reacting without thinking are higher than usual.

Towards the end of this season, the super rare Jupiter and Neptune conjunction will occur in Pisces. The blessed dance between these planets will expand creativity, inspire intuition, and deepen our spiritual capacity. And finally, Mars will move into Pisces on April 14, bringing a dreamy quality to the fiery passion available to us. What better way to set us up for indulging in connection and creature comforts of Taurus season?

Your Aries Season To-Do List:

1. Let Yourself be Selfish

Aries rules the house of the self and reminds us that it’s okay to be a little selfish. Self-care advocacy is not just a trend, it’s crucial to living your best and boldest life. Make sure to make time for you this season.

2. Make the first move

If you’re single, it’s a great time to mingle! Fire up those dating apps and be the first one to send the message. If you’re partnered up, make a move on your boo in a way that’s outside your usual routine. Send a spicy text in the middle of the day or suggest trying a new lube. Especially if you tend to let your partner be the one to initiate, this can be as exciting for you as it is for them.

3. Try something new

Whether you’re alone or with a partner, harness the adventurousness of the season to spice things up in your bedroom. It could be something as simple as listening to audio erotica for the first time or investing in a brand new vibrator. Or you could go extra spicy and get a vibrating butt plug for some buzzworthy booty play.

Remember: pleasure favors the bold. Or however the season goes. Happy Aries season!
