Terry Richardson Has Been Banned from Vogue and Other Fashion Houses

By Emma Elizabeth

Following the Harvey Weinstein firestorm, Hollywood seems to be making progress. Richardson, one of the world's most famous photographers, has been banned from Vogue, GQ, Vanity Fair and various fashion houses, such as Valentino and Bulgari.

The Telegraph obtained an email sent by James Woolhouse, Condé Nast's executive vice president and chief operating officer, stating:

"I am writing to you on an important matter. Condé Nast would like to no longer work with the photographer Terry Richardson.

Any shoots that have been commission[ed] or any shoots that have been completed but not yet published, should be killed and substituted with other material.

Please could you confirm that this policy will be actioned in your market effective immediately. Thank you for your support in this matter.”

Richardson has always been the poster child for inappropriate behaviour (Jezebel covered this is 2010), but it seems that the fashion industry wants to take steps in the right direction, or to perhaps avoid a PR disaster following a recent article in The Timescalling him "the Harvey Weinstein of fashion".

Richardson responded to the ban with a statement that said everyone involved has been a "consenting adult", and "everyone signed releases".
